Special machinery in Ukraine

The Armed Forces of Ukraine received the first M270 multiple rocket launchers (MLRS), which are twice as powerful as HIMERS. This was announced by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov.

This afternoon, the Department of Defense (DoD) announced $820 million in additional security assistance for Ukraine. This includes an authorization of a Presidential Drawdown of security assistance valued at up to $50 million, as well as $770 million in Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI) funds.

The White House released details of a new military aid package for Ukraine totaling $820 million. Voice of America journalist Ostap Yarysh reported this from Washington.

The United States has committed approximately $6.8 billion in security assistance to Ukraine since the beginning of the Biden Administration, including approximately $6.1 billion since the beginning of Russia’s unprovoked invasion on February 24.

The Pentagon is looking at what kind of air defenses it can give to help Ukraine ward off Russian cruise missiles, a senior defense official said.

The EU has started to deliver more than 90 off-road trucks to the Armed Forces of Ukraine under the European Peace Facility. The trucks will support medical, engineering and logistic units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
